5 reiki principles

Just for today, I will not anger.

Just for today, I will not worry.

Just for today, I will be grateful.

Just for today, I will do my work honestly.

Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

Saying the 5 Reiki Principles out loud, or to yourself each day encourages emotional regulation. Letting go of anger, even temporarily, can reduce stress and improve relationships.

Worry often pulls us into the future, or left focusing on whats passed. These Principles invite us to stay present and trust the process, which can ease anxiety and promote relaxation.

Gratitude shifts focus from what is lacking to what is abundant. Its a powerful mindset that will bring you joy and resilience.

To do our work honestly is all about integrity and purpose. Whether is a job, a passion project, or caring for others, doing it with sincerity builds self-respect and trust.

The one that gives me the shivers is… “to be kind to every living thing” I love how pronounced it feels when I say this. Compassion is contagious. This principle that reminds us to extend out kindness not just to others, but ourselves and all that is around us from nature to fur friends.

Each precept should start with “just for today,” helping you stay present. Including these principles in your daily routine will help you build a strong foundation in being rooted in Mother Earth & grounded in presence, which is where healing begins. Think of these as gentle reminders to live with more awareness, balance, compassion, and heart.
